Service Engineer - Deck Machinery

Key Accountabilities 

Undertake routine on-site repair and service operations within a defined work scope on a range of products 

Remove, clean, inspect and evaluate parts and their need for repair / replacement 

Conduct inspections to defined standards to ensure conformance to specification / tolerances 

Locate and utilize appropriate technical data to determine methods and sequences of assembly 

Maintain all necessary technical documentation 

Ensure that all work is done in accordance with applicable legal and Company procedures, including Health & Safety policies 

Providing work direction, technical guidance and supervision to others in-field, coordinating internal and external resources where required, in support of product maintenance and recovery action in accordance with customer contracted requirements. 

Execute RCI process, interfacing with the Field Service / Operations Manager and Operations Centre Services Desk. 

Knowledge share and support the on-the-job development of other Field Service personnel 

Manage "in field" customer relationships and manage all queries and concerns relating to on the job activities, escalating when appropriate 

Provide support of new product introduction and / or installation / commissioning in preparing customer readiness for the receipt of products, including undertaking training as required. 

Assist in identifying potential sales (OEM and Services) opportunities 

Support business improvement activities with regards to all in-field processes 

Apply appropriate project management principles and techniques to support timely delivery of service projects 

Key Experiences and any Qualifications 

Bachelor degree or Technical degree discipline is desirable 

Strong understanding and knowledge of a range of products, systems, their functionality and applications 

Strong understanding of relevant engineering and scientific principles 

Experience and knowledge of legislative requirements enabling correct release to service of work performed 

Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in English language 

Experience working with the Customer 

Business knowledge 

A good tolerance for managing pressure / stressful situations, with demonstrated good conflict management 

Advanced/Fluent English
